- Reader’s Digest magazine names Bridgestone ‘Most Trusted Tyre Brand’ in both Australia and New Zealand again in 2024.
- Bridgestone Australia remains the only brand to win the tyres category since it was introduced 11 years ago.
- This year marks the eighth straight victory for Bridgestone New Zealand.
ADELAIDE/AUCKLAND (27 May, 2024) — Bridgestone has retained the Most Trusted Tyre Brand status across Australia and New Zealand, retaining the coveted title named by Reader’s Digest for an unprecedented 11th time in Australia, and the eighth straight year in NZ.
The iconic Reader’s Digest Most Trusted Brand survey sees Australians and New Zealanders asked to rank the brands they turn to and put their faith in across more than 70 categories. This year, more than 2,500 Australians and 1,500 New Zealanders took part in the survey conducted by independent research firm, Catalyst.
Across both countries, Bridgestone group brands have been unbeaten, with Bridgestone winning all 11 years of the tyres category in Australia. In New Zealand, Bridgestone has claimed the past eight titles, with the Bridgestone owned Firestone brand winning the first two years of the award in New Zealand.
According to Bridgestone Australia & New Zealand Managing Director, Heath Barclay, the Reader’s Digest Most Trusted Brand accolade showcases the continued priority the company places on safe, reliable, quality products and a focus on customer experience.
“To maintain the trust of motorists across Australia and New Zealand for such a long streak is a feat we’re incredibly proud of, and it speaks to our core mission and values as a company,” Mr Barclay said.
“Bridgestone was founded on a mission of serving society with superior quality, and that’s something that is unchanged. We continue to develop and provide safe, reliable and quality tyres, supported with transparent and expert service, and have earned and maintained the trust and respect of motorists across Australia and New Zealand.
“Our industry leading and trusted reputation highlights how we are continuing to live up to Bridgestone’s mission and creating value for our customers,” he added.
As a leading and trusted tyre brand, Bridgestone continues to introduce innovative new products to meet the ever-evolving needs of motorists. This year alone has seen the addition of the Dueler All-Terrain A/T002, a versatile and comfortable 4x4 tyre, Turanza 6 for SUVs and Duravis Van light commercial tyre, the latter two featuring the latest ENLITEN technology.
ENLITEN is Bridgestone's base technology for product design, enabling ultimate customisation in safety, sustainability, and performance. This new technology is the result of the global investment of more than AUD $1 billion Bridgestone makes into research and development each year, benefitting the entire range of tyres for passenger vehicles, SUVs and 4x4s, through to truck and bus products, including Bandag retreads.
The new technology also places electric vehicles at the forefront, with the recently launched Turanza 6 and Duravis Van both EV-ready products, catering to the rising popularity of electrified cars, including plug in hybrid and fully electric drive trains.
“Bridgestone continues to innovate and invest in new technology like ENLITEN so that we can always meet the needs of our customers and they can continue to put their trust in us. As more and more customers adopt electric vehicles, we’re seeing a shift in their requirements and through ENLITEN and our increasing range of EV-ready products, we continue to have a solution for their needs,” Mr Barclay added.
Beyond the significant investment into product, research and development for the future, Bridgestone continues to contribute to a number of community led projects within Australia and New Zealand: the RYDA road safety education program, blood cancer charities, the Leukaemia Foundation and Leukaemia & Blood Cancer NZ, and advocating and promoting STEM opportunities through the global naming rights partnership of the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge, and partnering with the NZ based school EVolocity program.
“We continue to invest and innovate so that Australians and New Zealanders continue to have even more reason to place their trust in Bridgestone,” Mr Barlcay added.
“Our commitment to Australia and New Zealand goes beyond safe and reliable tyres. We’re striving to create value for our customers and society through activity with our partners so that together we are creating a better world by empowering the next generation, providing ease, and inspiring the excitement of mobility through the values of the Bridgestone E8 Commitment1.”
