BRISBANE, Queensland (8 April, 2026) – Bridgestone’s iconic Potenza Performance range will be updated to new generation products in 2026, starting with the release of the Adrenalin RE005. Throughout the year, RE005 will be joined by two other brand-new products – the flagship Potenza Sport EVO, and the new generation track-to-street tyre, RE-71RZ. 

Potenza is one of Bridgestone’s most iconic and revered product ranges and was first introduced in 1979 with the RE47. Since then, the flagship Potenza products have become synonymous with performance through original equipment fitments on some of the most legendary sports cars like Porche 959, Ferrari Enzo, and Lamborghini Revuelto and Temerario, while the street performance Potenza Adrenalin range has been loved by enthusiasts and tuners.   

General Manager, Marketing at Bridgestone Australia & New Zealand, David Honner, says 2026 is a rare year to see three major products in the same segment. 

“Driving enthusiasts have a lot to be excited about in 2026 with not just one, but three new Potenza products from Bridgestone this year,” Mr Honner said. 

“Everyone knows of Bridgestone’s rich history of performance through the Potenza range. It’s one of the most recognised names because of our involvement in global and local motorsport over the years, and the launch of three exciting products this year, starting with Potenza Adrenalin RE005, highlights our commitment to the Australian and New Zealand enthusiast market.” 

Bridgestone’s flagship performance line will see Potenza Sport EVO as the next generation of Potenza Sport. It takes the multi-award-winning capabilities of Potenza Sport and provides even greater performance in wet control, longevity and fuel/energy efficiency and will be offered in a wide array of sizes. 

The most significant gain for Potenza Sport EVO is in its wear life compared to Potenza Sport*1, boasting up to 15% better mileage*2.  

Mr Honner says Potenza Sport EVO is built for high-performance and premium fitments and extends Bridgestone’s heritage as a leading sports tyre manufacturer.

“Building on the success of the Potenza Sport – a tyre chosen as original equipment by many of the world’s most prestigious car brands, like Lamborghini, Maserati and Porsche – it continues the proud Potenza family legacy,” he said. 

While the newly launched Potenza Adrenalin RE005 is the gateway tyre to Bridgestone’s street-to-track circuit, the RE-71RZ will sit at the top of the Potenza pyramid - ideal for motorsport applications as well as remaining a street-legal fitment. 

Based on testing conducted at Japan’s iconic Tsukuba circuit*3, Potenza RE-71RZ is expected to bring enhanced handling, resulting in quicker lap times in both wet and dry conditions, as well as improved wear life and prolonged performance in its peak window compared to the current RE-71RS. 

The news of the forthcoming Bridgestone Potenza RE-71RZ has been met with great excitement by the local motorsport community. 

Bridgestone reignited its local motorsport involvement in recent years by becoming the title partner and control tyre supplier to the Bridgestone GR86 Championship in New Zealand, as well as tyre supplier to the Toyota 86 Trophy Series, and as of this year, the control tyre supplier to Australia’s most popular and diverse club-level category, Improved Production Racing Association.  

Both categories selected Bridgestone’s Potenza RE-71RS following competitive tender processes and are greatly anticipating testing the inbound RE-71RZ.

We’re thrilled with the anticipation around the release of the Potenza Adrenaline RE005 and have no doubt this will continue in the lead up to the launch of Potenza Sport EVO and Potenza RE-71RZ,” Mr Honner added.
