ADELAIDE, South Australia (27 October, 2021) — To celebrate 100 days until the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, Bridgestone has announced snowboarding sensation Tess Coady as a Team Bridgestone Australia ambassador athlete. Coady and Bridgestone will work together to continue to encourage and inspire Australians with the 'Chase Your Dream' message.

Coady is one of the fastest rising talents in international Snowboard Slopestyle discipline, and heads into next year's Olympics as one of Australia's top medal hopefuls.

Bridgestone, a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, and Coady will bring the 'Chase Your Dream' message to life through inspirational content in the lead up to the Olympic Winter Games in February – highlighting Tess' journey and defining moments in her career, and her tips on how to realise your own ambitions through resilience.

Taking inspiration from mentors who encouraged her to chase her own dream, Coady believes she can play an integral role to inspire others.

"I'm stoked to be joining the Bridgestone family heading into the Olympic Winter Games. They have a really great community at Bridgestone and I really relate to the 'Chase Your Dream' message they are putting out!" she said.

Resilience and determination have been defining factors in Coady's career, highlighted by the way she bounced back from injury on the eve of her Olympic debut at the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 and the journey to where she is today.

"Pyeongchang was definitely a challenging event for me, however I can see with hindsight now that set back was what I needed to really refocus on my goals and how I was going to achieve them. It helped me become more motivated than ever to become a better snowboarder and athlete," Coady added.

"My journey since then has really been about showing myself and the public how setbacks can be overcome, and you really can come back stronger and better than ever if you are willing to work hard enough."

Coady's partnership with Bridgestone builds on the community-led projects that Bridgestone has conducted over the past three years in the lead up to and post the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. In conjunction with fellow Team Bridgestone Australia ambassador athletes: Ariarne Titmus, Joe Ingles, Heath Davidson, Cathy Freeman and Connor O'Leary, Bridgestone reached out to the next generation of athletes through inspirational sessions and investment into facilities.

In line with the company's global Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, 'Our Way to Serve', which aims to enhance the way people live, work and play, Bridgestone's activity with Coady intends to arm Australians with the right mindset to be able to pursue their own dreams, taking Tess' story as inspiration.

According to Bridgestone Australia & New Zealand Managing Director, Stephen Roche, the partnership with Tess Coady is a fitting and exciting next phase of the multi-faceted Chase Your Dream campaign.

"Tess Coady's story of how she was inspired by her own mentors, and how she applied the lessons she learned from them in order to bounce back from hardship is something we can all take encouragement from. We're proud to partner with Tess and to be able to share her story for the benefit of not just the winter sports community, but all Australians," Mr Roche said.

"For the past four years, we've been encouraging and inspiring Australians to chase their dreams, and this is the next phase of that journey – equipping them with the tools and mindset to support those dreams."

The next iteration of Bridgestone's 'Chase Your Dream' activity will be launched officially in the new year in the weeks leading up to the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022.

To date, Bridgestone Australia has brought the Chase Your Dream campaign to life through: the rousing story of Belle Brockhoff ahead of the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 and the extensive community focussed Tokyo 2020 activity: the refurbishment of a basketball court in Sydney's west with Tokyo 2020 Medallist Joe Ingles, introduced a group of children in Perth to surfing through a surfing school with professional surfer Connor O'Leary, contributed to a state-of-the-art Athletics facility in Adelaide and hosted an intimate training session with Sydney 2000 Olympic Gold Medallist Cathy Freeman, conducted a wheelchair tennis workshop in Melbourne with Rio 2016 Paralympic Gold Medallist Heath Davidson, and two inspiration school appearances with dual Tokyo 2020 Gold Medallist Ariarne Titmus.
